Peninsula Transformation

During shelter-in-place, home as a personal sanctuary became the mindset of an amazing project for a Silicon Valley Family, providing privacy and escape throughout the property.

Boasting a magnificent pool that provides a refreshing escape from the warm mid-Peninsula summers, the landscape and garden complement the modern farmhouse-style home. The sprawling lawn and batting cage are perfect for the family to enjoy many outdoor sports activities, including a sunken volleyball net system. A focal point of the garden is a custom-designed steel and wood cabana with built-in banquette seating and a fire table. The cabana area provides protection from wind and sun, so one can be comfortable outdoors any time of day.

The property also features a lovely “art garden” with an Andy Goldsworthy-inspired serpentine stone wall and meadow-covered mounds. Meandering paths and an elegant bench allow for peaceful relaxation. The design is careful to protect the mature existing oak and redwood trees and preserve the woodland ambiance of the garden. This includes a floating deck around a large Coast Live Oak and new Japanese Maple and Flowering Dogwood trees for seasonal color and interest.
